Recruitment Rewards

This year we want you to share your favorite form of winter fun with one of the uninitiated—and we’ll pay you to do it! For every first-time, never-ever skier or snowboarder that you bring with you to Showdown and sign up for one of our fun First-time Learning Packages, we’ll pay you Ten Showdown Bucks. Use them to subsidize your season pass purchase or for your mid-afternoon latte—It’s up to you.

Here’s the Nitty-Gritty:

Intentions:
We are offering this reward program to encourage our existing skiers and riders to introduce their uninitiated friends and family members to the winter sports they love… Go to the extra effort to bring someone who otherwise wouldn’t come, and we’ll show our appreciation.

Definition of Terms:

  • Recruiter: a person who already skis or rides, and knows how great winter can be, especially at Showdown.
  • Newbie: a person who does not ski or snowboard, thinks winter is kind of cold and unpleasant, and wonders what all this “Powder-day” fuss is about.

Program Details:

  • You, the recruiter, must bring a newbie who’s not a current skier or snowboarder. Bringing an existing skier who wants to learn to snowboard doesn’t count… they already know it’s great up here. A newbie who skied once on a trip in college 20 years ago and hasn’t since is okay, but someone who used to race in high school but hasn’t skied in 10 years isn’t. See the difference?   • The newbie must purchase a regularly priced First-time Learning Package – either $39 for one day or $109 for three days. No, you don’t get bigger bucks if they buy the three day package, but it’s a way better deal for them. Be sure to check out package details.
  • Your newbie must be 7 years old to ski or 11 years old to snowboard. Sorry, we’re not offering the rewards for little guys.
  • Recruiters will be asked to fill out a card with their name, address and phone number, in case we want to send you other amazing deals. Maybe we’ll even do a prize for the season’s best recruiter.
  • Offer is valid any day that we are in operation during the 08-09 Season, but may not be combined with any other offers/programs/discounts.
  • Ten Showdown Bucks will be issued electronically to the recruiter on a Silver and Gold Gift Card when the newbie is registered. If the newbie ditches lessons or otherwise fails to follow through, the recruiter’s Showdown Bucks will be revoked. (No cheating…) Yes, the gift cards are transferable.
  • The recruiter can bring more than one newbie, but cannot bring the same person more than once. (Again, no cheating…)
  • Limited to two newbies per recruiter per day. If you’ve got three or more, give us a call at 800.433.0022, and well see what we can do.
  • No, two newbies can’t bring each other and each get $10. It’s a recruitment program, not a discount program.
  • As a nice person, we hope the recruiter will help their newbie through their first day on the slopes – where to store your stuff in the lodge, how to get your boots on comfortably, deliver them to lessons and share stories over tacos at lunch time.
