We're looking for someone to work at our Great Falls Town Office located inside the Skier's Edge Pro Shop.
September Dates: 24-27, 29-30 Starting Oct. 3, Fridays and Saturdays
Plus these school holidays: Oct. 16, Nov. 26
Extended dates/hours: Dec. 5-6, 8-13, 19-20, 22-24, 26-27 Last Day of the Showdown Town Office is Dec. 27
This position handles the sales at the Town Office and is the primary in guest relations and knowledge of information. Must be willing to handle money in a fast-paced environment, and perform other miscellaneous clerical duties. Cashier works directly with Guest Services at the mountain. You may be asked to perform tasks outside of your specific job description. Wage is negotiable.
2015-16 season we are seeking a patroller to join the professional team as Director of Ski Patrol.
The Director is the lead Risk manager for the ski area, including all procedures for on and off hill accident investigation. In addition, the director is responsible for leading training sessions and performing appropriate documentation. Lastly, the director works with mountain operations and mountain maintenance to carry forth the grooming plan. The Director position begins November 1 and proceeds through April 15. This person supervises all pro patrollers on Wednesday through Friday as well as any weekday holiday. On Saturday and Sunday’s, the director works with each of the Great Falls National Teams. We require previous experience as an NSP pro patroller or proof of necessary certifications; Outdoor Emergency Care and Wilderness 1st Responder. Wage is negotiable.
Snow sports instruction is an opportunity to work outdoors and teach others to enjoy the sport you love. Instructors must have an outgoing, fun and warm personality and willingness to work with students of all abilities, ages 3 to 99. Instructors are asked to assist with other tasks around the mountain, including program set up, event coordination and judging, learning area set up, snow shoveling, and terrain park maintenance. Own equipment preferred, but season-long lease of rental equipment possible. Advanced skiing/riding skills not required – we hire the smile and train the feet. Hours in this department are dependent on retail sales, but as a full time employee you are expected to be here every day of operation and will sign off on whether you would rather gain hours through keep busy projects or have the opportunity to go ski or ride. Hours range from 2 to 6, more during holiday’s and weekends. As part time employee, you are expected to be here on the days you are scheduled and will receive hours only after full time employees have been served. The Food and Beverage supervisor is responsible for all areas of food and beverage, i.e. King’s Hill Grille, Hole in the Wall Saloon, T-Bar Coffee Shop, and Top Rock Eatery. Supervisor schedules employees work stations and free time to ski and ride. Supervisor works with all wholesalers to make orders and then, carries through accurate inventory documentation. Supervisor is responsible for all food presentations and quality, including soups, chilis, brownies, and pizza from scratch. At each end day, supervisor is responsible for cash till closing outs, settlements, and recaps. Beginning wage is negotiable.
This position requires passing a background check. This position is strenuous insofar that you deal with a variety of children. Supervisor is responsible for documenting parent check in and check out times, responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized daycare, and willing to work with a variety of children and ages. Bar staff, cocktail waitresses, cashiers, bussers, short-order cooks, prep cooks, servers, dishwashers, and espresso baristas staff must be willing to work hard in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. This department interacts with every single guest at some point during the day and team members must project a clean, helpful and professional appearance at all times. A safety oriented position, lift operators work with guests of all ages and abilities, loading and unloading lifts. At all times, lift operators must be aware of their surroundings and very capable of working and communicating with ski patrol and snow school staff. Lift operators are required to check tickets, passes, and confidently discover scamming and report to lift supervisor. In addition, lift operators perform other tasks including snow removal processes, load and unload ramp maintenance, and incident documentation. Physical labor and ability to endure cold temperatures are crucial characteristics of any lift operator. Lift Operators must be 18 years of age. Technicians are responsible for setting boards, skis, fitting boots, and sometimes working POS programs. POS requires basic computer knowledge including how to use credit card processing. You made be ask to perform tasks outside of your specific job description. Beginning wage is $8.50.
Cashier must be 18 years of age and the main job is to aid guests in completion of rental and lesson package forms. Cashier is primary guest relation and knowledge of information. Must be willing to handle money in a fast-paced environment, use radio communication, and perform other miscellaneous clerical duties. Cashier works directly with Snow School Staff. The learning desk clerk is responsible for sale and registration of programs participants, lessons, and equipment rentals. Deep level of knowledge about programs, equipment, staff, and mountain environment is required. Position includes guest relations, clerical duties, money handling, light bookkeeping, and radio communications. Position works very closely with Snow Sports School Supervisors, Rental Staff, and Ski Patrol. Must possess the exceptional ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in one of the most fast-paced, demanding and complex positions at Showdown Montana. Attendant must be 16 years of age. Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays – Attendant is responsible for greeting guests and for effectively structuring parking lot. Clean and maintain base lodge on a nightly basis. Custodial staff must be self-motivated and capable of handling physical demands. Tasks include sweep, mop, vacuum, swamp bathroom’s, stock bathroom paper goods, set tables and chairs, dispose of garbage, and any other necessary task to make lodge as presentable as possible. Wage is on daily rate and is negotiable.
Normally, three paid pro patroller positions available and we require previous experience as an NSP pro patroller or proof of necessary certifications; Outdoor Emergency Care and Wilderness 1st Responder. Volunteer candidate positions are available through the Great Falls National Ski Patrol. Pro patrollers work Wednesday through Friday as well as all weekday holiday days. Wage is negotiable.
This position is all knowing and is integral to the day to day operations to Showdown Montana. This position handles all pass sales, PE sales, and online sales. This position is the main connection between maintenance, lifts, snow school, grooming, and mountain operations. This position must learn a number of entities of operation and have the ability to discuss it with the guests, especially over the phone. End of day tasks include recapping all point of sale transactions and prepping for follow up letters. You made be ask to perform tasks outside of your specific job description.
