Snow Miles

Showdown Snow Miles

Welcome to Showdown Snow Miles!

Same great servcie, new technology. Welcome to a new age! Getting on the slopes at Showdown has never been easier. This season Showdown is introducing our Snow Miles card with RFID technology.

Showdown has switched to RFID to provide the most streamlined guest experience available. Guests will no longer have to physically show their Season Pass or Lift Ticket to the lift attendant between every lap—the RFID card will register through your pocket or sleeve to the scanner. Guests will also be able to use the same card, day after day, season after season, without having to go to Guest Services between uses.

All guests who purchase lift tickets, rentals, snow school lessons, etc. from now on will be required to have a Showdown Snow Miles Card. Your lift tickets/rentals/snow school, etc. will then be loaded electronically onto your Snow Miles Card.

Once you have a Snow Miles Card you’ll be able to reload it online and skip the ticket window on future visits. The lift attendants will scan your Snow Miles Card from inside your pocket; keeping your hands warm and your ski day smooth

And don’t worry… we will have hand scanners at the lifts, not gates! We will still have the same personal interaction with our lift operators as they scan the Snow Miles cards.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will there be a charge for the Snow Miles Card?
Season pass holders will receive their first Snow Miles card free of charge.
Yes, the Snow Miles card will be $3 but as long as you keep the Snow Miles Card and reload it you will only need to pay the $3 fee once. A replacement card is $5.

I’m a season pass holder, when can I pick up my Snow Miles Card?
Season pass holders can pick up their pass at the Town Office in Great Falls before we open or at Showdown in Guest Services upon your first visit. (Our new passes take 7 seconds to print. You can now upload photos and sign waivers online!)

Are there any tips on where to place you Snow Miles Card?
Yes, the scanners will work best if your Snow Miles Card is placed inside a chest or sleeve pocket by itself. Our scanners will read from both sides so it does not matter which side of your body the Snow Miles card is placed. We highly recommend not placing the Snow Miles Card in a pocket with other electronic/magnetic/RFID items such as car keys, credit cards, driver’s licenses, etc.

Can I carry multiple Access Cards through the Access Gates, such as my child’s card?
No, the Card(s) may not work properly.  Carry only your own Snow Miles Card when passing through the Access Gates.

Why RFID technology?
This is to make the guest expereicne better. We are reducing lines at the Ticket Window, Guest Services and Rental Shop. It gives hands-free access to Showdown’s lifts and creates a smoother experience for our guests, allowing guests to purchase tickets, reserve rentals, etc. ahead of time.

What information is stored on RFID Cards/Tickets?
Each RFID tag physically contains only the randomly generated number associated with each unique user profile. No personal or additional information is stored on individual RFID tags.

Can a magnet destroy a Snow Miles card?
No. The chip information is not stored magnetically. Use of a magnet or other erasing devices has no effect whatsoever on the chip.

Can chips ‘survive’; in pieces of clothing, washing machines and dryers?
Yes. RFID chips are designed in such a way as to survive normal wear and tear for years, washing and drying included.

What do I do if I lose my Snow Miles Card?
Notify Guest Services immediately and they will deactivate your old card and reissue you a new card ($5 replacement fee applies).

Can I punch a hole in my card?
It is not recommended. A hole could damage the antenna in the card.

We hope to see you soon!
