Snow sports instruction is an opportunity to work outdoors and teach others to enjoy snow sports & love winter. Advanced skiing/riding skills are NOT required – we hire the smile and train the feet. Benefits include training in customer service skills, public speaking, personal riding/ skiing abilities & cross training. We also work with Instructors on skill-building towards PSIA-AASI Certifications. Instructors must have an outgoing, fun, and warm personality and willingness to work with students of all abilities, ages 3 to 99. Instructors are asked to assist with other tasks around the mountain that include but are not limited to: greeting, program set up, learning area set up & take down, snow shoveling, parking lot attending, selling lift tickets, event coordination and judging, and terrain park maintenance. Own equipment is preferred, but a season-long lease of rental equipment is possible at no charge. Hours in this department are dependent on retail sales; instruction hours range from 2 to 6, more during holidays and weekends. You may gain hours through working in other departments or ask your manager to sign off on you going skiing/riding. As a full-time employee, you are expected to be here every day Showdown is open during the 2023-24 season.

As a part-time employee, you are expected to be here on the days you are scheduled and will receive hours only after full-time employees have been served. You may be asked to perform tasks outside of your specific job description. We do offer Junior Instructor opportunities for individuals 14, 15, and 16 years of age.

The Ticket Queen/King handles ticket sales, guest relations, information, and money handling in a fast-paced environment, including radio communication, and miscellaneous clerical duties. The Ticket Office is open on holidays & weekends in the morning, and is often a position filled by employees in other departments such as Snow School. If you are interested in this type of cross training please inquire. You may be asked to perform tasks outside of your specific job description.
